Ashraf Garda has been described as both the Broadcast Authority and Talk Radio Authority  by his peers. He  describes himself  as a conversation architect, using  conversations to build people to help build a champion nation .

Ashraf Garda hosts The National Pulse weekdays 3-6pm 

This marks his return to SAfm Radio after an absence of 5 years. Back then he hosted the Afternoon Talk Show and the Sunday morning marketing and communications show Media@SAfm show .  

Having a pulse on the nation is an extension of the DNA of Ashraf’s purpose . He is  the co-founder and Chief Champion Spotter of the Champion South Africa project , a movement  with the vision to build South Africa into a champion nation 

He career as a broadcaster started at community radio stationThe Voice 94.5fm followed by a 5 year stint as sports host on 5fm 

He was used by  CNN , Al Jazeera  and CBC Canada as an analyst throughout the 2010 FIFA World Cup.  

His natural disposition for the big issues led him to a current affairs path - firstly with SAfm and then as host of the Investigative journalism TV show Special assignment which he hosted for 3 ½ years.  

He has embraced the digital age and is an avid content creator, podcaster and hosts Twitter X Spaces debates including the  A Seat At The Table 

It is a measure of Ashraf Garda’s national stature that he was appointed to serve his country as the MC for the opening day of the BRICS Summit 2023  and 2018 

He is a member of the prestigious Council of Champions that forms part of the Centre for Social Justice chaired by  Prof Thuli Madonsela  and he serves on the judging panel for the annual Social Justice Champion Awards 

In 2023  he was chosen by the Treeshake movement as one of their 27 Changemakers working towards a more United nation .
