An astounding South African broadcast-journalist, relentlessly anchors himself and the audience on ethical, true-story reporting amid faux news delivery that challenges the profession of journalism in its entirety.

Sampear’s radiantly serene, humanity driven mind and calm demeanour has shone brightly since his voice was first heard on Kasie FM in 2008. He went on to put his foot through the door at various newsrooms including Jozi FM, YFM and 702.

In 2012 Sampear moved to Jacaranda FM, where his passion for political and in-depth reporting grew. Having covered the Marikana Massacre as a field reporter from inception, on of the many stories he is passionate about, he parallelly covered and learned the convoluted world of politics.  He worked himself up and further joined the first post-democracy black owned commercial radio, Power FM where he was one of the first journalists to shape the tone and news direction of the station’s news DNA.

His determination saw him joining SABC TV as a Senior Political Journalist in 2014 and subsequently moving to eNCA as the same position in 2017, which ultimately saw him hosting his first political TV show; Polit Bureau. Charting a career route so phenomenal, his sitting with Heads of State and Senior Executives was as a defining factor to a long journey that saw him become a brand; a name that many South Africans resonates with.

A fun guy with a mind on serious matters, is a versatile personality whose intrinsic traits are truth and patriotism. Riveted by humanity and all about innovativeness and change behaviour, he is anchored on the values of ethical professionalism. The captain of his destiny, he has ventured out in search of what lies horizontal at his soul’s periphery and awake to his quest of how else he can be of service.

Currently a radio host on #SAfmBTH between 15h00 to 18h00 on weekdays and the host of SABC NEWS’ current affairs show, Unfiltered which airs Mondays on SABC 3 and African Perspective which airs on Wednesdays evenings, Sampear wears his heart on his sleeve and it pulsate in utmost good faith of humanity and envisages human spirit revitalization.

A charitable soul, Sampear is also co-founder of the non-profit organization iThuba, a property that is focused on bestowing a chance of exploratory career guidance upon otherwise disadvantaged youth. He straddles the old and new having made an indelible mark above-the-line, yet achieves a boisterous and charismatic presence of a comet, commanding a whopping following on social media. He presents the anchor that gravitate masses to focal point, a steel bearing giving off soul elements for the sustenance of many.

When he is not doing TV, radio, facilitating meaningful conversation for corporates and MC’ing functions, Sampear is a laid back and a true gentleman who loves his family and friends and ensures that there are plenty of laughs around him.
