Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi has postponed the online registration of Grade one and eight learners today* by seven days following a number of objections. Teachers union, the Suid Afrikaanse Onderwysers Unie, objected to the online registration process. It will now take place next Monday. The union, along with three other bodies have raised issue with the process saying that it failed to address some practical matters. Lesufi has reacted by saying that there are no super languages in the country and that additionally learners will be brought to schools where the resources are not fully utilised.
