Body woman living with albinism found after a week search
A week long search for a 20 year-old woman with albinism has resulted in the gruesome discovery of her body Kwa-Mbonambi near Richards Bay on the KwaZulu-Natal.
The body of Asanda Mbuyazi was found stripped naked in the bushes near her home at Ndlabeyilandula, in KwaMbonambi near Richards Bay on the KwaZulu-Natal. Her body had multiple stab wounds, in similar manner with a host of others in recent months.
Her killing follows that of a matriculant Nothando Cele from Bhamshele near oThongathi, north of Durban, was also hacked to death. Another school girl from KwaXimba - Mbalenhle Magcaba - was also raped before being killed and her body dumped in bushes in the area.
Mbuyazi was reported missing last Sunday and was found this past Saturday by police. She was last seen with her boyfriend who is said to be the father of their five-month old baby.Police are looking for the boyfriend who has since fled from his home, not far from Mbuyazi's homestead.
Her grand-father Thomas Mthethwa accompanied the police to identify the body. Mthethwa says it's not clear if some of her body parts were removed as the body was badly injured.
The Grandfather says Mbuyazi’s clothes were torn apart and her jean was ripped off.
Albinism killings and disappearance incidents are plenty in the province.
In 2011, a 14 year-old boy Sbusiso Nhatave from eSikhaleni area in Richards Bay vanished and was never found. In 2015, a 21 year old woman with albinism Thandazile Mpunzi was murdered for her body parts. Her killers including church leader are serving lengthy jail terms.
Last year, another boy with albinism Baneliswa Ntombela from eSikhaleni disappeared without trace. Meanwhile, an 18 year-old school girl in Mtubatuba is still in hiding after reports that she's being followed by mysterious cars.
