Although the sale of alcohol and cigarettes remains banned under alert level four of the national lockdown, a survey conducted by the University of Cape Town (UCT) suggests that an average of 90% of smokers are still getting their hands on a packet of cigarettes. The survey collected data from over 16,000 participants to understand smokers' behavior during the lockdown period.
