Air pollution in Mpumalanga kills 2000-Green Peace

NGO Green Peace Africa says air pollution as a result of Eskom’s power stations has caused 2000 premature deaths in Mpumalanga. The organisation staged a protest at the entrance of the power utility’s headquarters in northern Joburg yesterday. It claims that the company has neglected its responsibility to maintain the stations and to comply with carbon emission limits.
