Journalists worried of tight security at #SoNA2017

Date: Feb 7, 2017

Security is expected to be tight during this year’s opening of parliament where President Jacob Zuma will deliver the state of the Nation address

This Parliamentary Press Gallery Association  has expressed alarm at the decision to restrict movement by journalists on Thursday when President Jacob Zuma is expected to diliver this year's State of the Nation Address.

Parliament has dismissed reports that the media will be restricted to performing its duties during the State-of-the-Nation Address on Thursday evening.

Speaking to Sakina Kamwendo this morning acting parliamentary spokesperson Manelisi Wolela says the reports have no basis and that security arrangements will remain as they have been in the past years.
