Former leader Helen Zille was voted chairperson of the Federal Council

Former DA Federal Chairperson Douglas Gibson says he does not believe that events in the DA would be unfolding as they are had the party not lost voter support in both local and national elections. Former leader Helen Zille was voted chairperson of the Federal Council, a move which prompted Joburg Mayor Herman Mashaba to resign from both his position and the party saying he was choosing his country. There is much speculation about what will happen to DA leader Mmusi Maimane following Zille’s appointment. On #SAfmSunrise with Stephen Grootes spoke  to  Former Federal Council chairperson Douglas Gibson and The Star newspaper's chief reporter and editor of the Metro section Anna Cox.
