ANC reaffirms support for John Block

The ANC in the Northern Cape has come out in support of John Block who has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for corruption

The ANC in the Northern Cape has come out in support of former Finance MEC and provincial ANC chairperson, John Block. 

The party says they still believe in his innocence. Block and Trifecta director Christo Scholtz were sentenced to 15-years imprisonment in the Kimberley High Court on Tuesday. 

The court found that Block and Scholtz had a corrupt relationship, with Block using his political muscle to secure government lease agreements on behalf of the Trifecta companies, at inflated prices. 


Speaking to Sakina Kamwendo, the by Acting Chairperson ANC Northen Cape, Kenny Moimang said Block has appealed his ruling adding that  a different court may come to a different conclusion his sentence
