Mayor of Ditsobotla in North West released after an 8 hour hostage situation during a service delivery protest

An 8-hour hostage drama involving the Mayor of Ditsobotla in Litchenburg in the North West, only ended in the early hours of this morning. 

Mayor Daniel Buthelezi and his two body-guards were freed, after disgruntled residents, armed with different weapons and petrol bombs stormed the municipal offices. 

They demanded the implementation of promised services and projects in their area.
