Johannesburg mayor, Herman Mashaba says he's prioritised the investigation of the state of houses that were damaged by the storm at the weekend. The mayor has also requested the City's Risk Advisory Unit to investigate who the contractors were. 

The city will look at what its role is, in ensuring that buildings that are occupied are given appropriate certification. Benjamin Moshatama spoke to Johannesburg mayor, Herman Mashaba and Protea Glen Crisis Committee member, Phelelani Sindani.
