Listeriosis death toll increases to 107

Most of the 852 known cases have been reported in the Gauteng province

Health experts have still been unable to locate the source of the Listeriosis outbreak which has claimed more than 100 lives. The number was at 81 just less than a month ago. Most of the 852 known cases have been reported in the Gauteng province. 

The unknown source of the outbreak and the constant movement of people is making it difficult for authorities to contain the deadly disease. 

Stephen Kirker spoke to the Head of the Centre for Enteric Diseases at the National Institute of Communicable Diseases, Dr. Juno Thomas.
