The Universities of the Free State, Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula University of Technology have been hit by sporadic protests this past week. In the Free State, students on both the Bloemfontein and Qwaqwa campuses embarked on a protest to say NO to fee increases. At the Cape Peninsula University of Technology's Bellville and Cape Town campuses, students have been protesting for the past three months, reportedly demanding an end to financial exclusions.
Students at UCT are demanding the release of the long-awaited Fees Commission Report on the feasibility of free higher education. On the Forum@8 Sakina Kamwendo looks at fees commission report expected for release later this week with Elijah Moholola of the University of Cape Town, Lauren Kansley of the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, SRC president at University of the Free State, Asive Dlanjwa and #FeesMustFall Movement student activist, Masxole Mlandu.
