So, what is Monkeypox and should we be worried about it? There are reports of an outbreak of a viral disease that has been detected in the UK, US and parts of Europe including Portugal and Spain. The disease transmits through close contact and was first detected in monkeys. The virus causes fever symptoms and a bumpy rash and has two strains with origins in DRC and parts of West Africa.
