Botswana is in mourning the death of it's former President Sir Quett Ketumile Joni Masire, who past away last night.
Masire was the second and longest serving President of Botswana, having led the country from 1980 to 1998. He is said to have played a crucial role in the economic growth of a new Democratic Botswana during his tenure, as both the Vice President and later President.
Masire has been in hospital since last weekend, having undergone surgery at the Bokamoso Private Hospital. He was instrumental in building a Modern day Botswana.

The Botswana nation is in mourning following the death of former president, Sir Ketumile Masire. Masire passed away last night aged 91. He was admitted to the intensive care unit in a Gaborone hospital over the weekend.
