The Hawks have opened an inquiry into leaked e-mails involving alleged improper dealings between the Gupta family and government. 

The unit says it will look at the authenticity of the emails and how were they leaked. 

According to investigative journalism units amaBhungane and the Scorpio there is a wide trove of the #GuptaLeaks: "a few hundred gigabytes of information containing between 100,000 and 200,000 unique e-mails and a host of other documents.
