It has emerged that the National Students' Finance Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has erroneously given a Walter Sisulu University student 14-million-rand. A library on the university's Zamukulungisa Campus in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape was torched on Monday night.
This follows students' protests related to financial exclusion at the Nelson Mandela Drive and Zamukulungisa campuses. Students claim that a number of them are excluded from the NSFAS programme. The student who got the millions was only supposed to get one-thousand-400-rand.
Sakina Kamwendo spoke to WSU Spokesperson, Yonela Tukwayo and NSFAS Spokesperson, Kagiso Mamabolo.
