Minister Masutha welcomes Walus parole decision
Walus and his late co-conspirator Clive Derby-Lewis were convicted for the murder of SACP general secretary Chris Hani 24 years ago
Justice Minister Michael Masutha has welcomed the ruling by the Supreme Court of Appeal to set aside a high court judgement for Janusz Walus's release on parole. The SCA upheld Masutha's appeal after the High Court in Pretoria earlier set aside his decision NOT to grant the parole.
Walus and the late Clive Derby-Lewis were jailed for the murder of then Communist Party leader Hani in 1993. Minister Masutha earlier spoke to Stephen Kirker.
