Monday's announcement by National Assembly Speaker Baleka Mbete that the motion of no confidence would be decided by secret ballot took many by surprise. While others thought it was the right decision in order to protect members of parliament from intimation; others thought an open ballot would have been best and in the interest of transparency and openness.
