Abuse and slavery in Cape wine farms
On the #ForumAT8 this morning we discuss the story of abuse and slavery in the Cape wine farms
A documentary titled 'Bitter Grapes' alleged slavery at some of the wine farms in the Western Cape was aired in Denmark last week, and has since seen the sale of South African wines in Denmark taking a knock, as some Danish retailers removed wine produced at some of South Africa's top wine farms.
Sakina Kamwendo speaks to Manager at Wine Cellars at VinPro who is representing Farm Owners and Producers Christo Conradie, deputy general secretary of the Commercial, Stevedoring and Allied Workers' Union Karel Swart and award winning Danish film director Tom Heinemann who directed the documentary "bitter grapes".
