Delays in Post Office contract not our own doing: SASSA
South African Post Office set to take over distribution of social grants
Parliament's Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA) has conducted oversight visits to four state-owned companies in Gauteng. The members visited South African Airways (SAA), SA Express (SAX) and the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) as well as the South African Post Office (SAPO) headquarters, to assess the latest developments in the companies' financial management and turnaround strategies.
Scopa's meeting with SASSA and SAPO was a follow-up on the commitments by the two state institutions to enter into a contract for the distribution of social grants. The discussions included details on how the contract will be fulfilled.
On the Forum@8 Sakina Kamwendo looked at the progress made so far, with regard to the take-over of Grants payment from CPS to SCOPA Chairperson, Themba Godi and SASSA National spokesperson, Kgomoco Diseko.
